Aramco controls blaze at oil facility; several injured

Riyadh – Mubasher: A fire broke out at Saudi Aramco crude oil facility near Riyadh on Wednesday; however, the company’s emergency response teams along with Civil Defense were able to contain the blaze.

“Saudi Aramco regrets to report that several workers were injured as a result of a fire at 3 p.m. at a crude oil facility in Alwsea and all are being treated,” the company said via its official Twitter account.

“The fire is under control. Company’s operations are not impacted,” it added.

The fire broke out at around 3pm KSA time on Wednesday, 19 October.

Saudi newspapers reported that around 17 workers were injured and most sustained minor injuries. Some of the workers have been discharged, the newspapers said, reporting no deaths.
