Aramco mulls $150bn gas investment in 10 yrs

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Arabian Oil Co, known internationally as Saudi Aramco, has revealed plans to invest $150 billion in the gas sector over the coming ten years, CEO Amin Nasser said.

The world's largest oil producer is also looking to raise gas production to 23 billion cubic feet per day in the next period, from 14 billion currently, Nasser told Reuters during a conference in Dubai.

“We also have world-class unconventional gas resources that are rapidly supplementing our large conventional resources ... currently we have 16 drilling rigs concentrating on unconventional gas and more than 70 wells completed this year,” the CEO noted.

Nasser also indicated that Aramco mulls over injecting $100 billion into chemical industries sector over the next decade.
