Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabian Oil Co (Saudi Aramco) is planning to carry out limited maintenance operations at its Abqaiq oilfield in September, an informed source told Reuters on Tuesday.
The maintenance will result in reducing Aramco’s exports of lightweight oil, the source added.
No further details regarding the duration of the maintenance or its impact on supplies was revealed, Reuters said.
Production at the Abqaiq oilfield located in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province reached 400,000 barrels of Arabian Light crude in 2012, according to data released by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
