Aramco says to invest $100bn in boosting gas production

Riyadh-Mubasher: Aramco plans to invest $100 billion in boosting the natural gas production over the next 10 years, said CEO Amin Al-Nasser.

He added that his company is currently producing 12 billion cubic feet of gas per day, and plans to raise the output to 23 billion cubic feet per day, Makkah newspaper reported.

France's Total and Aramco are still studying to expand their Satorp refinery in Jubail, said Total CEO Patrick Pouyanné.

He added that the expansion, to be named Satorp2, will focus on producing petrochemicals, but still under discussion due to uncertainty about gas supplies.

Aramco will start its Sadara project in Jubail soon, Pouyanné said, noting that it is better to wait until the vision about Sadara products becomes clear.

Al-Nasser expected oil prices to see correction as of 2016 amid decline in untraditional oil supply.
