Aramco signs 3 deals to build gas plant

Riyadh-Mubasher: Saudi Aramco has signed three agreements with Spain’s Técnicas Reunidas and the UAE's Petrofac to build a gas plant in Fadhili, Northern Jubail.

Técnicas will build the input and gas processing facilities as well as the processing utilities, while Petrofac will establish the sulfur recovery units.

Upon completion, Fadhili plant will be a key element in the kingdom’s main gas network as it will fulfill the growing demand for energy through boosting the current daily capacity from 9.3 billion standard cubic feet of gas to 12.2 billion by 2021.

The plant is likely to produce nearly 1.5 million standard cubic feet (1080 British thermal units/standard cubic feet) of sale gas, 4,000 metric tonnes of sulfur per day and 470 million scf of gas to feed the adjacent generation plant.
