Riyadh - Mubasher: Saudi minister of energy Khalid Al Falih said on Wednesday that Saudi Arabia will have a pioneer role in carbon capture, storage, and reuse in order to reduce emissions.
It is worth noting that carbon dioxide emissions are one of the main greenhouse gases that are the reason for global warming.
Al Falih noted that Saudi companies led by Aramco have invested in developing the next generation of carbon capture and storage (CCS).
SABIC recently opened its carbon capture and utilization facility in Jubail, which transforms 500,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide into products such as methanol and urea.
The minister also noted that Aramco is not looking forward to investing in gas projects in the United States, but SABIC is considering a number of investments in the U.S.
