Aramex adds unit to MENA’s largest fulfilment warehouses

Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai-based logistics firm  Aramex has inaugurated a new partially automated fulfilment centre in Dubai to enhance its rapidly growing e-commerce business with business-to-business (B2B) retailers.

Located in Dubai Logistics City and spanning an area of 60,000 square metres, this temperature-controlled centre is one of Aramex’s largest fulfilment warehouses in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, a press release on Monday said.

Aramex’s new fulfilment warehouse features new technologies that include a ‘Pick to Light’ system that uses light-directed picking technology to enhance accuracy and efficiency, in addition to an automated conveyer belt system.

“The centre will expand our global logistics capacity and enable us to help more start-ups and established businesses receive, process, and deliver orders to customers through effective supply chain management,” global head of logistics at Aramex Saeed Mukhtar commented.

Aramex, listed on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM), is a leading global provider of comprehensive logistics and transportation solutions.

During 2018, logistics and supply chain management operations enlarged by 16% to AED 302 million, due to the strong demand for Aramex’s warehousing and other value-added services across key markets.
