Cairo – Mubasher: Egyptian archaeologists have discovered 50 mummies, including 12 children, in Minya a Pharaonic tomb dating back to the Ptolemaic era, the antiquities ministry said.
The mummies were found inside four nine-meter deep burial chambers in the Tuna El-Gebel archaeological site.
The identities of the mummies are still unknown, the secretary-general of Egypt’s supreme council of antiquities, Mostafa Waziri, revealed.
According to the mummification method of the mummies, they may belong to holders of important or prestigious positions.
