Ascott eyes expansions into Ghana, GCC

Dubai – Mubasher: The Ascott Limited revealed that it will manage two hotels in the middle of Ghanaian capital, Accra, said the UAE-based newspaper Albayan.

The largest international hotels owner and operator plans to inaugurate some hotels in 2018 in Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the UAE.

Ascott started investing in Africa after the UAE’s investments in Ghana hit AED 11 billion as Ascott 1 Oxford Street Hotel in Ghana will be opened on separated phases, starting from 2019, while Quarles Residents Hotel will be inaugurated in the fourth quarter of 2018.

The Singapore company will open two hotels in the UAE during 2018 in Culture Village in Dubai.

After inaugurating the hotel in Culture Village, Ascott’s hotels portfolio in the UAE will include Ascott Park Place Dubai, and Citadines hotel.

The Ascott Limited will open four hotels in Saudi Arabia between 2018 and 2019 namely Ascott Hotel in Al Khobar Northern Corniche, Somerset Downtown in Al Khobar, Somerset in Jeddah Corniche, and  Ascott Hotel Makkah Villas in Riyadh.

After inaugurating the four hotels in the Kingdom, Ascott’s portfolio will increase to ten hotels spanned over Jeddah, Riyadh, Khobar, and Makkah.

Ascott will open in Oman Citadens Hotel in Al-Ghubra during 2018 and the other existing hotel in Oman is Somerset Panorama Muscat.

Ascott added to its portfolio 18 new cities in nine different countries, said the firm’s Lee Chee Koon.
