Asian indices open mixed

Mubasher: Asian indices initiated Thursday's trading session on a mixed note.

The Nikkei index declined 0.83% to 16,690.83 points.

The broader TOPIX index opened 0.76% lower to 1340.76 points.

Shanghai Composite index rose 0.49% to 2875.36 points.
