Mubasher: Dubai-based Damas Jewellery on Sunday announced hiring Asil Attar as the company’s CEO, marking the first female appointment in this position.
“We are delighted to have our very first female chief executive officer on board,” Arabian Business reported, citing the executive chairman of Damas Jewellery’s executive chairman Hamdi Chatti as saying.
Attar, who received her position on Sunday, 3 February, worked previously for the jewellery sector’s well-known brands including Giorgio Armani Group, Coach, and she was the CEO of Al Yasra Fashion, Majid Al Futtaim.
“Attar is known for her transformational work and proficiency in implementing visionary strategies while having a keen eye for fashion. All of that makes Attar an invaluable asset for our business,” Chatti added.
Damas owns 230 stores across the GCC, in addition to a portfolio distributed over 40 global in-house and luxury brands.
Damas stated last December that it named Hamdi Chatti as its new executive chairman to help the firm in achieving its future growth vision.
