Assets of UAE banks hit AED 2.7tn in January

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Assets of banks operating in the UAE, including banker’s acceptances, declined 0.26% during January 2018, registering AED 2.688 trillion, compared to AED 2.695 trillion a month earlier, according to a report released by the Central Bank of UAE (CBUAE) on Thursday.

Total deposits dropped 5.2 billion in the previous year, the CBUAE revealed. 

The money supply (M1) rose 1.1% to AED 498 billion by the end of January from AED 492.4 billion in the month before, according to the bank’s report.

Similarly, M2 increased by 0.1% to AED 1.277.2 trillion in January from AED 1,276.2 trillion in December 2017. Meanwhile, M3 shed 0.4% to AED 1.481 trillion in January from AED 1.487.1 trillion.
