BBK unit seeks investments in Iraqi Kurdistan, GCC

CrediMax, a subsidiary of Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK), is intending to invest in Iraqi Kurdistan’s market during 2016 after acquiring the required approvals, CEO Youssef Ali Mirza said, adding that the company is willing to invest in a number of Gulf countries.

The company’s operations will be only in Erbil, which is the most stable market in Iraq, noted the CEO.

Mirza said that CrediMax is planning on expanding in the GCC market; the company is already investing in Kuwait through BBK, and is studying the opportunities in the Saudi market as well as the Qatari market.

He clarified that CrediMax is advancing the credit card market in Bahrain.

CrediMax will issue a new card in the first half of 2016, targeting the ‘Classic’ level.
