BHB back to losses, snaps 3-day slide

Mubasher: Bahrain Bourse closed Thursday’s session on red, after three successive rising sessions, pressured by services, industry and banks.

The benchmark index declined to 1182.3 points, losing 0.58% or 6.85 points.

The Bahrain Islamic index also fell 2.29% or 17.81 points to 759.94 points.

Market capitalisation went down to BHD7.017 billion, compared with BHD7.053 billion at the end of the previous session.

Traded volume dropped to 1.75 million shares with a trading value BHD475,600 compared with 2.7 million shares at BHD613,300 in Wednesday's session.

The industry sector headed decliners after losing 28.28 points or 5.03%, to 533.87 points after Alba decreased by 5.23%.

The services sector also dipped to 1300.67 points, losing 8.86 or 0.68%, due to Zain and NASS slide by 8.33% and 8.18% respectively.

The banks sector lost 0.24% and reached 2357.56 points, pressured by Ithmaar and Al Salam Bank that declined by 4.45% and 1.01% respectively.

Al Salam Bank, Al Baraka, AUB, Batelco, and United Gulf Bank shares settled.
