BHB falls in week on two sectors decline

Mubasher: The main index of Bahrain Bourse (BHB) edged down 0.19% or 2.63 points to reach 1,353.36 points by the week ended 6 April when compared to the past week.

The tourism and investment segments were the only decliners with a fall of 3.98% and 3.05%, respectively; the first sector was dragged by the 5.98% fall of Gulf Hotels, while the second sector was impacted by the 6.38% drop of GFH.

Meanwhile, the industrial segment soared by 7.22%, on the back of Alba which rose by 7.46%.

BHB’s turnover grew to BHD 6.05 million this week from BHD 5.8 million a week ago, and the trading volume increased to total 34 million shares from 25 million.

Takaful International was the most active stock during the week, with 14.22 million traded shares.

Alba recorded the highest liquidity of BHD 1.41 million in week.
