Mubasher: The main index of Bahrain Bourse (BHB) fell by the end of Sunday’s trading session pressured by leading stocks, particularly banks.
The general index edged down 0.06% or 0.82 points to reach the level of 1,310.04 points.
The banking sector, which pressured the index, declined 0.13%, weighed down by its top three stocks, as Khaleeji Commercial Bank (KHCB) dropped 3.57%, Al Salam Bank – Bahrain lost 1.09%, and the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) fell 0.75%.
On the other hand, Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK) rose 0.51% and Ithmaar Holding added by 0.57%.
Trading volume shrank to about 1.85 million shares from 2.58 million in the previous session, while liquidity declined to BHD 408,500 from BHD 442,710 on Thursday.
By the end of trading on Sunday, market capitalisation was estimated at BHD 7.78 billion.
