Mubasher: Bahrain’s stock market registered its lowest level since December 2013.
The benchmark index lost 7.3% or 94.6 points to settle at 1,192.9 points by the end of the week ended 15 December.
Bahrain Islamic index retreated 0.61% or 4.8 points to close at 790.6 points against a loss of 795.5 points last week.
During the three-session week, turnover reached about BHD 922,600 as compared to BHD 1.4 million a week ago. Meanwhile, trading volume stood at 1.167 million shares, compared to 8.8 million shares.
The investment sector topped the decliners after losing 2.5%, followed by the banks, services, and industrial sectors which fell by 1.9%, 0.84%, and 0.52%, respectively.
The national Bank of Bahrain lost 2.8% during this week, followed by Seef Properties and Alba which retreated by 1.94% and 0.54%, respectively.
