The benchmark index of Bahrain Bourse (BHB) ended Thursday with a rise of 0.73% or 8.71 points to 1,198.23 points; the first session in green after six consecutive declines.
Today’s turnover increased to about BHD 729,995 as compared to nearly BHD 379,330 on Tuesday, while trading volume decreased to 1.613 million shares from 3.37 million in the previous session.
The services sector rose 2.72%, backed by Batelco which gained 5.20% as well as Bahrain Cinema which levelled up 3.17% following an announcement on Wednesday that it invested $5.5 million in Seef Complex.
The investment sector rose by 0.63%, after GFH jumped 6.06% and Al-Baraka rose 0.92%.
BHB’s industrial sector inched up 0.53% after Alba gained 0.55%.
The banks sector moved 0.26% up, pushed by Bahrain Islamic Bank that recorded the highest rise of 7.9%.
AUB recorded the highest turnover of around BHD 549,870 after trading nearly 802,000 shares.
