Bahrain ‘most visited’ country by GCC citizens – Report

Mubasher: The number of GCC citizens who have moved between member states has witnessed strong leaps in recent years, from 4.5 million in 1995 to 12.4 million in 2005 and then to 19 million in 2014, showed a report issued by the information sector in the Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Such leaps represent growth by more than 65% in the last ten years, according to Bahrain News Agency (BNA).

The Kingdom of Bahrain has received the largest number of GCC citizens amounting to 6.6 million, followed by Saudi Arabia with more than 6.1 million citizens and Kuwait with 2.9
million.

The number of GCC nationals who have entered the State of Qatar amounted to more than 1.1 million, while Oman received 581,000.
