Mubasher: The main index of the Bahrain Bourse ended Monday’s trading session in red, on the back of investment and banks sectors’ losses.
The benchmark index lost 0.28% or 3.36 points and closed at the level of 1,206.4 points.
As for the sectors performance, the investment sector declined by 0.65% as United Gulf Bank was the session’s biggest loser and dropped 9.09%, while the industrial sector went down by 0.64% as Aluminum Bahrain (Alba) lost 0.67%.
Similarly, commercial banks decreased by 0.13% as Bahrain Islamic Bank and National Bank of Bahrain shed 3.97% and 2.78% respectively, despite that Khaleeji Commercial Bank was today’s biggest gainer as it surged 9.7%, and was also the most active in both traded volumes and values with 7.54 million shares and a turnover of BHD 756,530.
Total traded volumes increased to 9.64 million shares from 7.62 million shares last session, while trade values rose to BHD 1.55 million compared to BHD 1.01 million on Sunday.
