Bahrain Bourse down 0.5% for the week

Mubasher: The main index of Bahrain Bourse declined last week, as the main index fell by 0.49% to close at 1,660.48 points.

The main index losses came on the back a decline by the industry sector by 0.68%, while the investment and industry sectors went down by 0.68% and 0.66%, respectively.

Meanwhile, banks and services plunged by 0.53% and 0.05%, in that order.

Leading the declining stocks last week, was Al Baraka Banking Group, which is also listed on Nasdaq Dubai and closed the week on a 7.89% decline, while Bahrain Islamic Bank, which is also listed on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM), ended the week on a 4.17% decrease.

On the other hand, Solidarity Bahrain and APM Terminals rose by 2.27% and 2.23%, respectively.

Traded values decreased by 6% during the week to BHD 4.04 million, compared with BHD 4.3 billion in the week before.

Traded volumes also went down by 10.68% to 17.22 million shares, compared with 19.28 million shares in the week before.
