Bahrain Bourse loses 24 pts in week

Mubasher: The main index of Bahrain Bourse (BHB) lost 1.81% or 24.13 points week-on-week to close at 1,307.09 points by the week ended on 11 May.

The turnover decreased to BHD 2.84 million this week from BHD 5 million a week ago. Similarly, the trading volume fell to 12 million shares from 18 million in the past week.

The banks sector levelled down 2.93% after Ithmaar Holding and Ahli United Bank (AUB) declined 6.45% and 4.29%, respectively.

The industrial sector also went down 2.31%.

The investment sector shed 0.91%, dragged by Qinvest which fell 9.09%.

The tourism sector slipped 0.6%.

On the other hand, the insurance and services sectors advanced 2.45% and 0.23%, respectively.

AUB was the most active stock this week, with a volume of 1.36 million shares traded at a value of BHD 5.35 million.
