Mubasher: The Bahrain Bourse’s main index ended Monday’s session falling by 1.61% or 19.30 points to the level of 1,177.15 points, the highest single day fall since 10 months.
Trading volume reached 1.801 million shares exchanged at BHD 263,835.
The investment sector declined 2.43% due to the fall in Arab Banking Corp and Al Baraka Group by 8.82% and 5.15% respectively.
The commercial banks sector shrank 1.9% as Bahrain Islamic Bank and Ithmaar Bank dropped by the same percentage of 4.17%. Ahli United Bank decreased 2.31% and Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait lost 2.2%.
The services sector retreated 0.48% due to a 1.42% fall in Batelco.
Meanwhile, the hotel and tourism sector rose 0.58%, backed by an increase of 7.58% in Banader Hotels.
