Bahrain Bourses rises on banks and investment gains

Mubasher: The main index on the Bahrain Bourse ended Tuesday’s trading session in green, on the back of the banks and investment sectors.

Bahrain All Share Index (BSEX) went up by 0.3%, gained 3.6 points and closed at the level of 1,210 points.

The commercial bank sector index added 0.55% as Khaleeji Commercial Bank jumped 5.9% and was today’s biggest gainer, the stock also was the most active in traded volumes with 3.16 million shares.

Ahli United Bank also gained 0.78% and registered the highest turnover at BHD 523,450.

Investment rose 0.48%, supported by Inovest and Al Baraka Group which added 4.35% and 4.17% respectively.

On the other hand, the hotel and tourism sector declined 1.31%, as Banader Hotels plumped 2.8%.

Similarly, the services sector fell 0.45%, as Zain Bahrain was the session’s biggest loser and dropped 5%.

Today, traded volumes decreased to 9.5 million shares compared to 9.64 million shares on Monday’s session, while values increased to BHD 1.62 million from BHD 1.55 million.
