Bahrain bourse continues 3-day rally, propelled by AUB

Mubasher: Stocks on Bahrain Bourse closed Wednesday in green, powered by the banking sector.

The general index inched up 1.1% or nearly 13 points to reach the 1,189.15 level, while Bahrain Islamic Index rose by 0.19%, or 1.46 points, to 776.3 .

Market capitalisation increased to BHD 7.053 billion ($18.8 billion), compared with BHD 6.976 billion ($18.6 billion) in the previous session

The banking sector leapt by 2.38%  to 2,363.1 points, backed by the rise of AUB and Al Salam Bank by 4.45% and 2.06%,  respectively.

The services sector was the sole loser of the day, falling 0.11% or 1.4 points to 1,309.5 points, pressured by Bahrain Car Park that declined by 9.88%.

Meanwhile, GFH Group, Al Baraka Banking Group, Seef Properties, United Gulf Bank, Batelco, and Alba remained unchanged.

Traded volume increased to 2.7 million shares from 1.38 million shares, while  traded value rose to BHD 613,300 from  BHD 328,700 in the last session.
