Bahrain discovers largest oilfield since 1932

Mubasher: Bahrain announced the discovery of its largest oil field since the Kingdom’s first oil well started proceeding in 1932, as reported by the Associated Press (AP).

The Bahraini government clarified that the new resource is "understood to dwarf Bahrain's current reserves."

Bahrain’s oil ministry will reveal further details about the initial findings of size and extraction viability during a news conference on Wednesday.

AP noted that the natural gas field was discovered off the west coast of the Gulf Persian island in the Khaleej Al Bahrain Basin.

“The non-OPEC producer extracts oil from an offshore field it shares with Saudi Arabia and the onshore Bahrain field,” AP added.
