Bahrain index down 0.71% at close

Mubasher: The main index of the Bahrain Bourse ended Tuesday’s session falling by 0.71% or 8.69 points to the level of 1,211.13 points.

Trading volume increased to 3.77 million shares from 1.63 million shares exchanged on Monday, turnover also rose to BHD 354,590 from BHD 210,950.

The commercial banks sector declined 1.05% as Al Salam Bank topped losers after dropping 7.02% and Ahli United Bank fell 0.77%, the latter made the highest turnover of BHD 301,960.

Meanwhile Ithmaar Bank led gainers by adding 8%, and Khaleeji Commercial Bank grew 1.37%, the latter was the largest-traded stock with a volume of two million shares.

The investment sector fell 0.62%, dragged by a decrease of 5.71% in United Gulf Bank and 1.49% in Bahrain Commercial Facilities.
