Bahrain index inches lower pressured by BBK

Mubasher: Bahrain Bourse index dipped in today’s session due to Bahrain and Kuwait Bank (BBK) that was the sole decliner.

The general index declined by 0.03% or 0.37 point to reach 1,166.05 points, while Bahrain Islamic Index settled at 750.24 points.

Market capitalisation fell by the end of Sunday’s session to BHD6.911 billion ($18.32 billion), compared to BHD6.913 billion ($18.33 billion) by the end of Thursday’s session.

Trading volume rose to 1.4 million shares today versus 9.58 million shares exchanged in the previous session.

Traded value also rose to BHD1.9 million through 40 transactions, compared to BHD9.58 million on Thursday.

BBK stock closed in red with a decline 0.52%, leading the banking sector to lose 0.07%.
