Mubasher: Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has endorsed the launch of a mega development project that boosts the tourism infrastructure in Muharraq, with a total cost of nearly BHD 45 million, according to Bahrain News Agency (BNA).
The Prime Minister underlined the government's keenness on implementing vital development projects that serve the citizens and provide tourism, recreational and commercial alternatives for them, and, at the same time, consolidate its efforts to develop tourism in regions across the kingdom, especially Muharraq, given its rich historical heritage, BNA reported.
The project features a multi-storey car park, a hotel, and a souq that will be built on the current location of the Muharraq Post, and linked with the seafront through a pedestrian bridge. It also contains a boat harbour, a walkway and an area for restaurants and cafes.
