Bahrain mulls importing LNG from Russia

Mubasher: Bahraini Energy Minister, Hussein bin Ali Mirza, said on Sunday that his country discussed with Russia’s Gazprom the possibility of importing liquefied natural gas and establishing an LNG platform in Bahrain, according to Russia Today website.

Mirza explained that Bahraini side offered Moscow to use this platform, which will cost $800 million and will be operative by 2018 for the distribution of Russian liquefied gas.

Bahrain also offered Russian oil companies to carry out onshore and offshore oil exploration in the kingdom, according to the minister.

Mirza is accompanying Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in his current visit to Russia.
