Mubasher: Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK) is seeking to open a representative office in Turkey to expand in global markets through seizing growth opportunities outside Bahrain, said CEO Abdulkarim Bucheeri.
The bank has endorsed a strategic plan for the years 2016-2018, which focuses on launching initiatives for overseas expansion, the top executive was quoted as saying by local gazette Alayam.
The CEO also added that BBK would focus its Turkey operations on banking activities as well as government and commercial financing.
Meanwhile, the bank is not planning to provide retail banking services currently in the Turkish market, noted the CEO.
Bucheeri also expected the bank to post strong results in the fiscal year 2015, with growth of between 5-20%. However, he forecasted difficulties facing Bahrain’s commercial sectors in 2016.
