Bahrain’s Gulf Air unveils new stopover travel packages

Mubasher: Gulf Air announced the launch of fresh stopover travel packages in an effort to promote Bahrain as a tourist destination to its global customers.

Launched in response to the executive committee’s directives, the new stopover travel packages were offered in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), and local destination management agencies.

Gulf Air’s passengers can explore Bahrain en-route before reaching their final destination, Bahrain’s state-owned carrier said in a statement.

Available for both Falcon Gold and economy travellers for the duration of 1-4 days, the stopover packages can be booked through Gulf Air’s website and worldwide contact centre, the airline added.

The new stopover programme includes a wide range of hotel accommodations, day tours and excursions for authentic Bahraini experiences, Arabian Business reported, citing Gulf Air’s statement.

Commenting on the launch of the new packages, Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority’s CEO, Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa, said, “We are pleased to collaborate with Gulf Air yet again through the Bahrain stopover packages project. We..believe this new project will be well received by passengers of the national carrier, and will encourage them to stopover in Bahrain and hopefully come back to discover more."

For his part, Gulf Air’s CEO, Kresimir Kucko, said: “Bahrain has a lot to offer..Our main goal is to promote Bahrain tourism to the global audience.”

The airline has set this year as the #YearOfChange, which involved a slew of changes to the business such as a new brand, new livery, new fleet, new uniform, new destinations and a new strategy, Arabian Business said.

Gulf Air received five Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and one Airbus A320neo aircraft this year, along with launching flights to six new destinations, comprising Egypt, India, and Azerbaijan.
