Bahrain's bourse extends decline as industrial, banks weigh

Mubasher: The main index of Bahrain Bourse continued retreating for the seventh session in a row, as it was down by the end of today's session, affected by banks and industrial sectors’ losses.

The main index closed in red, shedding 0.2%, or  2.38 points to end at 1,166.42 points.

Bahrain Islamic Index declined by 0.54%, or 4.06 points to reach 750.24 points.

Today’s trading value rose to BHD159,850 ($420,800), compared to BHD89,320 ($235,150) in Wednesday's session.

Trading volumes also rose  to 782,720 shares, against 417,760 shares exchanged in the previous session.

Market capitalisation dipped to BHD6.913 billion ($18.20 billion), compared to BHD6.927 billion ($18.23 billion dollars) in yesterday’s trading.

The industrial sector fell 1.6%, dragged by Alba that fell by 1.7%.

The banking sector dropped by 0.19%, after Khaleeji Commercial Bank and NBB went down by 1.5% and 0.7% in a row.

Meanwhile, the services sector rose 0.07% backed by Zain’s rise by 1.19%.

Ahli United Bank was the most active share with a values ​​reaching $87,030 after 133,900 shares were exchanged through five transactions. The stock settled at $0.65.
