Mubasher: Bahrain’s consumer price index (CPI) hit its highest level since January 2014, according to a report released on Monday by the kingdom’s Central Informatics Organisation.
The CPI rose in February by 0.8%, compared to a rise of 1.8% in January and a 0.2% increase in February 2015.
According to the report, the annual inflation rate of February reached 2.9%.
Transportation costs, which constitute 24% of consumer spending, increased 2.9% year-on-year.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, forms 16% of consumer spending, rose 6.8%.
