Bahrain’s stock market closes in red zone

Mubasher: The main index of Bahrain Bourse retreated 0.37% or 4.33 points to close at 1,177.14 points on Thursday.

Bahrain Islamic Index inched 0.34% up or 2.61 points to 763.85 points.

The market’s liquidity rose to about BHD 840,140 while trading volume decreased to 2.5 million shares.

Arab Banking Group led the losers as it slid 6% hitting the investment sector which went 2% down.

The market cap fell to BHD 6.977 billion as compared to BHD 7.002 billion.

The banks sector dropped 0.23% as NBB as well as Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait dropped 1.45% and 0.52%, respectively.

The services sector gained 1.62% as Batelco jumped 3.3% to be the top winner, in line with gains by Zain Bahrain which levelled up 0.6%.
