Mubasher: The Bahraini economy is expected to grow around 2.5% during 2019 and 2020, according to a report released by the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) on Wednesday.
The country’s non-oil sector will still be the main incentive for the economy, with a growth estimation of 3.6% in the medium term, the AMF said.
The GDP at constant prices went down 1.8% in 2018, compared to 3.8% in 2017.
Inflation is expected to reach 2.9% in 2019 and 1.9% in 2020, the report found.
The AMF expected that Bahrain’s trade deficit would decline to $500 million in 2019 from $800 million a year earlier.
