Mubasher: Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication plans to appoint a consultancy services firm to specify the directions of Bahrain Metro Project within 18 months, the member of House of Representatives’ Financial and Economic Committee told Al-Watan newspaper.
The megaproject will be self-financed by the country through joining forces with the private sector, Ahmed al-Salloum added.
The Bahraini official further explained that Spain-based IDOM Consultant Engineering has currently finished preparing the feasibility study for the metro project.
The project, with a total capacity of 43,000 passengers per hour in Phase 1, is a major part of Bahrain Vision 2030.
