Bahrain works hard to diversify energy sources - Minister

Mubasher: Bahrain is providing full support for the establishment and development of strategic projects in the energy field are supported to secure its current and future needs of different energy sources, according to Bahraini Minister of Energy, Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, in his interview with BNA on Wednesday

The minister added that Bahrain is working hard to diversify its energy sources in order to reduce reliance on oil and its derivatives.

“There are new projects aimed to find alternative and clean energy sources such as wind and solar power,” he noted

Mirza said that there are development projects aimed to increase the oil sector’s value and to make it more competitive.

The minister confirmed that the Kingdom establishes and develops strategic projects and infrastructure, in addition to several investment projects estimated at $32 billion announced by the Economic Development Board.

Mirza expects a change in oil prices based on supply and demand.
