Mubasher: The Kingdom of Bahrain’s Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) and Kuwait’s Communication & Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) have signed a cloud-computing memorandum of understanding (MoU).
The MoU comes as a step to bolster relations between the neighbouring GCC countries as well as facilitate government processes, raise efficiency and speed up project implementation, whilst maintaining security and confidentiality of information and data.
The deal was signed late Saturday by iGA CEO Mohamed Ali AlQaed, and CITRA CEO and board chairman Salim Muthib AlOzainah, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
AlOzainah said that the MoU was an expression of the strong ties between Bahrain and Kuwait, noting that such an initiative was in line with achieving Kuwait’s Vision 2035 that aims to support and bolster eTransformation.
“Kuwait has recently held a number of MOUs in the field of IT so as to keep pace with the advanced technology and meet the future needs of Kuwait,” AlOzainah added, according to BNA.
Meanwhile, iGA’s AlQaed noted the positive impact of the cloud computing MoU and initiative, highlighting that it would “develop, enhance, and sustain” the quality of services provided to users. He added that the deal would also offer a suitable environment to attract more foreign investments to the region.
