Bahraini bourse back to gains powered by Alba

Mubasher: Bahrain bourse index closed in green today backed by the leading stock Alba.

The general index ended on a high note with 0.14% climb to 11,196.27 points. The Bahrain Islamic index rose by 0.14% to close at 7,774.02 points.

Market capitalisation grew from BHD7.08 billion ($18.47 billion) to BHD7.09 billion ($18.50 billion).

Today’s traded value fell to BHD 138,570 ($361,640), from BHD 216,470 ($564,940). Traded volume also dropped to 297,130 shares, from 1.29 million shares.

In addition, the industrial sector rose by 0.54% powered by Alba share that jumped 0.56%. Meanwhile, the investment sector ebbed 0.02% affected by Esterad Investment Company’s share that lost 1.5%.

Faisal Boushahri, financial analyst, said that the Bahraini general index remains weak, while liquidity rate is still unstable as investors shy away from trading.

The analyst advised traders not to head for panic selling due to rumors at times of steep declines.

Al Baraka Banking Group was the top active with $104,900 generated from exchanging 192,900 shares. The stock steadied at BHD 0.56.
