Mubasher: Bahrain Bourse main index fell Sunday to its lowest levels since December, 2013, weighed by the decline of leading sectors.
The gauge shed 1% or 12.6 points to close at 1,221.2 points. Bahrain Islamic Index shed 2.43% to close at 805.2 points.
Sunday’s turnover amounted to BHD 347,300 ($913,900), down from BHD 430,800 ($1,130) on Thursday. A total of 1.117 million shares were exchanged in 39 transactions.
Market capitalisation lost BHD 72.783 million to end at BHD 7.292 billion ($18.993 billion), compared with BHD 7.292 billion ($19.200 billion).
The industry sector sagged 4% dragged down by Alba that lost 4.21%. The investment sector fell by 2.65% after ABC and Al Barak declined by 6% and 5% in a row.
The services sector also fell by 0.30% after Zain and Batelco shed 10% and 0.63% respectively.
Alba recorded the biggest traded value reaching BHD 114,000.
