Bahrini stocks dive, pulled down by banks

Mubasher: The main index of Bahrain Bourse lost 0.62% or 7.3 points to close at 1,168.42 points on Wednesday.

Bahrain Islamic index retreated 7.01% to settle at 768.76 points.

The bourse’s liquidity decreased to about BHD 199,430 as trading volume levelled down to around 99,600 shares.

The market cap fell to BHD 6.93 billion as compared to BHD 6.9 billion.

The banks sector fell by 1.2%, dragged by NBB which lost 2.9%. The industrial sector inched 0.54% down, on pressure from Alba which fell by 0.56%.

The benchmark index of Bahrain Bourse is technically weak, and targets a level below 1,150 points during the month, said technical analyst Faisal Boushahri.
