Cairo – Mubasher: Bank Audi has successfully completed negotiations for acquiring the National Bank of Greece’s (NBG) banking operations and branches in Egypt, Bank Audi Egypt’s acting CEO and managing director said.
The deal still awaits the final approval of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), Mohamed Bedeir added in a statement on Tuesday.
On 2 May, NBG entered into a deal to transfer its retail and corporate banking operations in Egypt to Bank Audi.
All accounts and agreements of customers will be automatically transferred to Bank Audi on the transfer effective date, Bedeir noted.
