Banking, real estate sectors drag QSE to red at open

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) declined in Wednesday’s early trading by 0.27% or 27 points to the level of 9,983.75 points.

Turnover reached QAR 77.25 million as 2.6 million shares were exchanged through 1,215 transactions.

The real estate was the worst performing sector after falling 0.52%, affected by the decline in Ezdan, Barwa and United Development.

The banking sector also plummeted 0.45% as Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) dropped 1.03%.

On the other hand, the insurance and industrial sectors rose by 0.34% and 0.26% respectively

Qatar for Cinema and Film Distribution topped decliners with a 7.9% decrease, whereas Dlala Holding headed gainers by adding 2.34%.

Gulf International made the highest activity with 828,040 traded shares and a turnover of QAR 31.72 million. The stock rose 1.06%.

The bourse’s benchmark index grew yesterday by 0.14% or 14.22 points to the level of 10,010.67 points.
