Banking, transportation sectors drag down QSE early Wednesday

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Wednesday’s trading session in negative territory, dragged by the fall of the banking and transportation sectors.

By 09:40 am Qatar time, the general index declined 0.06% to 9,707.69 points, losing 5.73 points.

Turnover amounted to QAR 4.23 million after 172,280 shares traded through 123 transactions.

The banking sector topped the QSE’s losers falling 0.40% as National Leasing Holding plunged 1.69%, while the transportation sector decreased by 0.09% on the back of Qatar Gas Transport’s (Nakilat) 0.17% drop.

On the other hand, the industrial sector headed the bourse’s four gainers adding 0.33% as Industries Qatar and Investment Holding grew 0.83% and 0.37%, respectively.

Qatar Fuel’s (Woqod) stock, which stood at QAR 157, led the QSE in terms of liquidity with QAR 1.51 million, while Mazaya Qatar Real Estate’s stock, which levelled down 0.73%, led the market in terms of trading volume with 54,810 shares.
