Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Monday in red, losing its initial gains in early transactions, dragged down by the drop in six sectors.
The main index dropped 0.5% or 41.4 points to 8,299.71 points.
The Insurance sector led the losers, with 1.57%, dragged down by four shares, led by Doha Insurance with 6.67%.
The industrial sector also fell 1%, pressured by six stocks, led by Investment Holding with 2.32%.
Moreover, the banks dropped 0.12%, after the fall in Qatar First Bank by 2.27%.
On the other hand, the consumer goods sector was the only gainer, with 1.09%, pushed up by Mannai Corp with 4.28%.
Turnover grew to QAR 149.01 million from QAR 137.47 million, after the rise in the traded volume to 6.25 million shares from 3.34 million shares.
Investment Holding achieved the highest trading volume, with 956,000 shares, while QNB generated the highest value at QAR 29.9 million, rising 0.64%.
