Banks' assets rise 1.8% in November – UAE's CB

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Assets of banks operating in the UAE increased 1.8% month-on-month by the end of November 2017, the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates said on Thursday.

Banks' assets grew to AED 2.687 trillion in November including bank acceptances from AED 2.639 the previous month.

Total deposits rose by AED 32 billion, boosted by the growth of resident and non-resident deposits by AED 25.8 billion and AED 2.6 billion, respectively, the data showed.

The money supply (M1) declined 0.3% to AED 490.3 by the end of November from AED 492 billion a month earlier, according to the bank’s report.

Meanwhile, M2 jumped AED 1,248.8 trillion in November from AED 1,244 trillion in October.

Similarly, M3 advanced 0.7% to AED 1594.8 billion in November from AED 1,584 trillion the month before.

Moreover, total loans hiked 0.7% to AED 1,594.8 trillion in November from AED 1,584 trillion in October, the data showed.
