Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Monday’s trading in the green, supported by the growth of the banking and goods sectors.
By 10:00 am Qatar time, the general index inched up 4.35 points, or 0.05%, to 8,757.01 points.
The bourse's turnover amounted to QAR 13.8 million after 592,200 shares changed hands through 405 transactions.
The banking sector topped the QSE’s gainers adding 0.74% as Qatar National Bank (QNB) went up 1.87%, while the goods sector grew 0.22% after Medicare Group levelled up 4.40%.
Meanwhile, the real estate sector topped the bourse’s losers falling 1.68%, dragged by Ezdan Holding Group’s 2.57% drop.
The industrial sector inched down 0.22% as Industries Qatar decreased 0.42%.
United Development Company’s stock, which declined 0.33%, led the market in terms of trading volume with 56,300 shares, while Medicare Group’s stock headed the QSE in terms of liquidity with QAR 2.1 million.
