Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Wednesday’s trading session in negative territory, pushed down by the drop of four sectors.
By 10:00 am Qatar time, the general index fell 20.95 points, or 0.23%, to 8,986.28 points.
The bourse's turnover amounted to QAR 50.8 million after 1.7 million shares were exchanged through 607 transactions.
The banking sector topped the QSE’s losers falling 0.32% as Qatar National Bank (QNB) declined 0.13%.
Similarly, the industrial sector inched down 0.04% after Qatari Investors Group went down 0.86%.
Meanwhile, the real estate sector topped the bourse’s three gainers adding 0.58% as Ezdan Holding Group and Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development grew 1.05% and 0.50%, respectively.
Mesaieed’s stock, which rose 0.49%, led the market in terms of trading volume with 436,800 shares, while Industries Qatar’s stock, which retreated 0.18%, headed the bourse in terms of liquidity with 0.18%.
