Banks, investment stocks weigh on DFM Thursday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) closed Thursday in red territory at 2,660.53 points, losing 5.51 points or 5.51%.

Trading volume reached 124.15 million shares today exchanged at a turnover of AED 153.28 million.

Market capitalisation inched down 0.2% to AED 353.29 billion from AED 354.1 billion yesterday.

Most of the sectors declined on Thursday, including the banks, investment, and financial services sectors, while the real estate sector was the sole riser.

Emaar Properties added 0.67%, while Dubai Islamic Bank and Dubai Investments shed 0.39% and 0.80%, respectively.

Meanwhile, Salama Insurance was the most heavily traded stock with a turnover of AED 45 million traded through 51.61 million shares.
